This is my first blog. I don't know how one starts a blog so I guess I will start with a simple hello. Hello, My name is Christopher. If you look deeper into my profile you will see a list of favorite hobbies, movies, and books. I think that gives a little bit deeper dive into who I am by what I like. The main take away is I love the nerdy self I have grown into over all my years of living. The thing I enjoy most is Dungeons & Dragons, that is D&D for those that don't know. I have played D&D for over 20 years now. Its a table top game that you play with your friends in an imaginary world. The world the dungeon master builds can be very big or very small. D&D has become popular in the past few years, one of the best examples I can show you is Critical Role a D&D game run by popular voice actors you may or may not recognize. Here is a link to their Youtube you can watch at your leisure Critical Role.
My goals in life are simple. I am going to school for cyber security. It is a field I have always been interested in, and the more info I read on pen testers, ethical hacking, and protection of technological information just gets me more hyped up then ever before. I hope to get into this fascinating career field and move to Virginia. Virginia is my favorite state I have lived in.
The reason for this blog is my English 102 class for my degree. I find it interesting we are creating a blog. I am not 100% sure how it will help, but I am hopeful. I see myself as a writer in a few ways. I don't see myself as a write like Stephen King or James Patterson, but I enjoy writing campaign settings and creating characters in D&D, which is a lot of writing. Here is an example of just a small amount of writing that goes into creating a character.
I feel like this makes me somewhat of a writer, but I don't write full books or research papers. I think that type of writing is overwhelming. Grammar is my worst subject. I hope you all reading this enjoy my journey of writing this blog and hopefully getting better at grammar and a few other things.
Until next time, Hope you all roll high initiative
Christopher

I appreciate that your definition of writer can expand to include creating characters in D&D. I've never played, but I have friends who really enjoy it, and I've heard great things about Critical Role. It sounds like an exciting game, but I'm not sure I would be up for the time commitment.
ReplyDeleteNice blog, you covered a lot of info.
